Dr Lam received his BSc (First Class Honours), MPhil, PgDipEd in Physics from The University of Hong Kong and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was awarded the “Lam Chi Him Memorial Prize in Physics” and Dean Honour’s List during his undergraduate studies.
 
His research interests include gas sensing technology, graphene technology and density functional theory calculations. His main research result was published in a renowned international refereed journal and obtained a patent in the United States.
 
Prior to joining HKCC, Dr Lam acquired rich teaching experience in a secondary school as a teacher and since then he had been invited to be a visiting lecturer at HKCC. Dr Lam now teaches several courses including Physics and Basic Electricity and Electronics.
