Dr Lam obtained his BSc (Hons) in Construction Economics and Management from the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) of PolyU and was commended as being top of his class. After graduation, Dr Lam worked in a construction cost consultancy firm in Hong Kong as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and later furthered his study at PolyU where he obtained his PhD degree in Construction Management.
Dr Lam has been a Post-doctoral and Project Fellow in Construction Management, and a Co-Investigator of various research projects in construction health and safety, construction management, and teaching and learning. Dr Lam was awarded the Departmental Outstanding Teacher at BRE in 2015/16; he was also a Lecturer at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, specialising in building and construction related subjects.
Dr Lam has published several research papers in refereed academic journals and international conference proceedings, and has recently won teaching grants in learning space. Dr Lam is a Full Member of the Australian Institute of Building (MAIB) and Association for Project Management (MAPM).
