Dr Joseph Chan is an accomplished professional in the field of construction and project management. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Construction Economics and Management, an MSc degree in Project Management, and a PhD degree in Construction Project Management from the Department of Building and Real Estate at PolyU.
Dr Chan embarked on his surveying career in 2005 as a quantity surveyor, working with a prominent local quantity surveying consulting firm. With a strong foundation in the industry, he has since made valuable contributions to several tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.
Dr Chan is a distinguished member of various professional organisations, including The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (MHKIS), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), and the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management (MHKIPM). His expertise and knowledge have resulted in over 30 publications, encompassing refereed journal papers, international refereed conference papers, consultancy reports, and other written outputs.
Moreover, Dr Chan has recently obtained professional membership of The Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management (HKIFM) and the Property and Facility Management Division of HKIS, further expanding his professional network and expertise.
