Dr Chan Yui-choi Thomas received his PhD degree in Gender Studies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from PolyU. Having extensive experience in teaching and researching cultural phenomena and social issues, he enjoys exploring the meanings of everyday life with students from cultural and social perspectives.

Before joining this institution, Dr Chan had worked in the social welfare sector and for different research projects in Social Sciences and Cultural Studies in local UGC-funded universities. His research interests include Urban Changes in Hong Kong, Gender Issues, Elderly Life, and Hong Kong Cultural Heritage.
