Dr Doris Yuan earned her bachelor’s degrees in Management from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, China, and Commerce from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. She received her master’s degree in Professional Accounting from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and her PhD in Business Administration from Shandong University, China.

Prior to joining PolyU CPCE, Dr Yuan served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at PolyU’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management. Before commencing her doctoral studies, she worked as an accountant at a state-owned enterprise in mainland China.

Dr Yuan’s research interests include human resource management, hospitality management, and the application of AI in business administration, with a particular focus on how AI reshapes employee experiences and workplace dynamics. Her research has been published in journals including International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Tourism Review, and Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management.
